April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player American is part of a select category of females who have been awarded medals at several Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic gold medal. The next time she has the chance to do so at the age of 39. But she's still convinced of winning top awards. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we perform our best and playing well, I think we could win the gold medal." "I'm planning to test a little luck." Ross was born in 1982 and was raised in Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began competing in sports at Newport Harbor High school. She went on to compete in a myriad of sports at Newport Harbor High School. Her pre-athletic career comprised indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running and track. In her final game she stood out. In her time at the high school level, according to her college bio, she was an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. In recognition of her accomplishments she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. Also, she won the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross Klineman and Ross may be working on a project in the year 2017, however Ross was already an established volleyball player before they joined forces. It's true that she has been able to win multiple tournaments, including one with the legendary player of volleyball. Between 2007 and 2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Kessy was Ross's partner on the World Championships of 2009. They eventually won a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. They were defeated for the gold by the legendary duo of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor as she left the team. They went on to earn the beach volleyball bronze in the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college after graduating from in high school. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was impressive. When she was a freshman in 2000 the Trojans' performance earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA the Freshman of the Year award. She also helped the Trojans get to the Final Four. In her sophomore year, she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to make it back as an All-American. In her last two years of participation in the Trojans program, she guided the Trojans to winning a national title every year. The achievements of each individual have established her as a volleyball legend. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross was an USC international relations major, was a volleyball star. Unfortunately, Ross mom Margie never got to see her daughter ascend to the very top of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. In the aftermath, Ross is still near to her mother who passed away. Margie has always been a source of inspiration to her both on and off the beach.
